AnoBase was funded by grants from the UNDP/World Bank/World Health Organization Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases
(TDR) and is now supported by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID),
as a member of VectorBase, the database of insect disease vectors.
The help of several colleagues was (and still is) invaluable in the setting up and the further development of this database. There are many people who were (and still are)
involved in this endeavor at several levels, and whom we gratefully thank. They include Michael Ashburner, Kate Aultman, Marc Benedict, Nora Besansky, Ewan Birney,
Frank Collins, David Emmert, Bill Gelbart, Aubrey de Grey, Tony James, Fotis Kafatos, Jules Milgram, Manu Mongin, Jose Ribeiro, David Roos and Yeya Toure. We apologise to
all those whose names we forgot to include here! Thanks also to the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation for its support
at the initial phase of this project.
